Experiencing Diwali with Goodwill
Diwali is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year where
we light outside our homes to symbolize the inner light that protects us
from spiritual darkness. Indians celebrate Diwali for varied reasons - In
north India, Diwali is celebrated to welcome King Rama to Ayodhya
after he defeated Ravana. In South India, it is the day to celebrate
Lord Krishna’s victory over the demon Narakasura.
The celebration usually involves lighting lamps and distributing sweets
which are a usual custom but the unique custom of Diwali -” The
festival of lights” is bursting crackers and fireworks that illuminate the
land and sky.
